Welcome
to my
Teaching Portfolio!

As a child, I always looked forward to going to school every day. In fact, I still remember the feeling of butterflies in my stomach as I tried to go to sleep the night before the first day of a new school year. Because of this, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. It wasn't until I helped a friend of mine clean and decorate her very first classroom in an elementary school that I knew I had to be an elementary teacher. I am currently an Elementary Education major at Auburn University, set to graduate in May of 2022. I have no preference for where I will teach, but I do hope to find someplace where I can make a big impact. Children are our future, and I want to do my part in ensuring our future is successful.

About This Site

In 2007, the Alabama State Department of Education developed a set of five categories which were "to examine, recommend, and work to implement laws, policies, and practices affecting teachers and teaching effectiveness to ensure student success in Alabama’s public schools” and to “promote the aggressive recruitment, preparation, support, retention, and growth of quality teachers in order to raise student achievement in Alabama" (Alabama State Department of Education). These categories (literacy, diversity, content knowledge, teaching & learning, and professionalism) are collectively known as the Alabama Quality Teaching Standards. This website is a collection of work I have completed at the collegiate level which each align with at least one of these standards. To navigate my assignments, essays, lesson plans, and more, select the standard listed above or in the menu at the top of this page. Thank you for visiting my teaching portfolio!
